The Runaway Jury
Jury duty is not fun, that is where I have been. I am glad to report that I will probably never have to do it again. I was "Madam Foreperson" and our entire jury got dismissed and sent home mid trial.
The judge took the time to tell us it was only the second time in his life he had ever had to do that.
I am not really at liberty to say why but it was scary, as my husband said "just typical" weird stuff happens in and around your orbit all the time. Thanks for that vote of confidence dear ! ( please note it wasn't something any of us did that caused us to get dismissed it was an "incident" that took place during lunch)
The most annoying thing is a) we were all actually quite enjoying ourselves b) we will never know what happened. It is like watching a really good movie then a power cut happens and you miss the end.
Having said that John Cusack wasn't there , you can be assured if he was I would have fought a lot harder to have our jury kept on the case !!

I "missed it by that much" on my last summons to jury duty. I got voted off the island in the last round.
Btw, I liked that book/movie. I'm a bit of a Grisham fan.
Well, I don't like that what made him dismiss you all was something "scary" AND only the second time in his Judge Career that he has done that!
Oooooh.....I hope it is nothing you have to still be scared about, now that you are no longer part of that trial.
I like that film "RUNAWAY JURY" very much. Everyone was so good in it....I LOVED Hackman & Dustin Hoffman sparing....lol! I always love any film story that unfolds that way so you really do not know evrrything until pretty much The End!
Glad you are back, my dear....I too, cannot believe a whole year has gone by....It is, in a way, frightening how fast time is going! Happy Birthday to your twenty year old, this Monday!
I was called for jury duty once...it was dismissed right before we had to go in. YEAH!
