Holy update Batman - yes an actual update

Procrastination should be my middle name, at least when it comes to updating the old blog !
There was a time when I updated and read others faithfully almost to the point of obsession. Now it seems I have relagated blogging to the "used to be fun" pile.
I think about updating often but thinking about it and doing it are not quite the same thing.

I guess I really just don't do things on a daily basis that I feel people would be interested in reading, I don't have an amazing past to dredge up stories from and right now I can't see any blogworthy moments on the horizon.

It is still summer break here in New Zealand and the kids will be returning to school Feb 3rd. Rebecca got her "American girl" just like me doll for Christmas , I know she is not an American girl she is a Kiwi girl but decent 18 inch dolls are well nigh impossible to find here.
Chloe ( which is what she called her) has turned out to be a huge hit and has been played with constantly since she arrived :)
Good call Mummy !!

Joel is still playing guitar like a maniac, has formed a band with some friends from school called Tribulation ( and no they are not a Christian group which is what one might assume)
His latest thing is learning classical pieces that have been funked up. I actually don't mind listening to that, rather that then some of the other things he was playing. I must be getting old.

The tv quiz show that I filmed way back in June or July ( so long ago I don't even remember exactly) has finally aired as of last week.
I can now finally tell you that my partner and I did make it to the "Rich list" part of the show and got to nine correct answers on our list. Our list was European Union countries that use the Euro as currency. We got $15,000 which we had to split.

Does anyone want to see pictures from the 2008 Los Angeles Christmas trip, I will post some if you do :)
I think that is enough for today, who knows I might even update again sometime later this week !!

Merry Christmas

It is Christmas Eve for us ( still only lunchtime thankfully as I still have a lot to do !!)

Merry Christmas to one and all. Los Angeles was fun, a blur but fun

Sarah and I got most of the Christmas shopping done while we were there. Black Friday sales at Bath and Body works when you are the only ones in the store are great !!

The other thing that was great about the Beverly Centre was this guy, or at least Sarah thought so. During the day they had traditional Santa but once the children were all tucked up in bed, hunky Santa came out to play.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season with your friends and loved ones. For now I have to go make potato salad and clean a bathroom, yeah me !

Much ado about nothing,

What I should be doing and what I am doing are often two different things. Today is no exception.
I leave for Los Angeles on the 27th of this month, yes folks that is soon ! For those who were not clued in by my cleverly disguised show off post , I won ANOTHER trip to Los Angeles. This time it was courtesy of Covergirl cosmetics. A trip for two, including spending money. As Borat would say Niceeeeeee!

I am taking my oldest daughter Sarah seeing as it is meant to be a girls trip and well she is a girl.

Our E tickets and shuttle vouchers etc all arrived this week in a nice little pouch complete with pens for filling out departure and arrival cards. It finally started to feel real once they arrived, until now it has all been emails and phone calls.

We get to go collect the spending money cheque and get our make up done at the Covergirl offices on Monday. Fortunetly the dollar has gone back up a few cents in the last week. Things were looking dire for awhile there. I am still going to be mentally doubling the price of everything when I am actually shopping in the States though. 58 US cents to one NZ dollar is the current rate.

Having said all that I should be sorting out luggage, deciding what to pack. Deciding which book to take on the plane ( trust me that IS an important decision)
Making shopping lists, looking at google maps to figure out how to make the most of each day.
We arrive on Thanksgiving Day at 10.40 in the morning so we should be at our hotel by lunchtime.Anyone want to invite us for Thanksgiving dinner haha.

I have added on three extra nights in Anaheim because there is no way I am going to be that close to Disneyland and not go !! Sarah has not been since she was six and barely remembers it so for her it is almost like a first trip. Our hotel will be a total downgrade from the Sofitel to a budget hotel across from Disney. I am sure we will cope though. This will be my first time at Disney during the holidays and I am so excited to see it all decked out for Christmas. Having said that I am also starting to feel horrible that poor Miss Rebecca isn't coming with us. I see huge piles of "guilt" presents under the tree for her this year haha.

Dance like there is no one watching

Davey Dance Blog -50- ORLANDO - The Beatles "Baby You're a Rich Man" from Pheasant Plucker on Vimeo.

From the weird but pretty cool files today. This is the 50th in a series, dance Davey dance. I love the woman near the end of this, look in the right hand corner. She is getting ready to pose with her kids for a pic in front of the castle then realises this is going on behind her haha.

The fact they are dancing to the Beatles and are at Disney makes this a double thumbs up from me This guy gets around, he has dance clips of himself from all over the world. I want to dance around the world now !
You can see more at the link below

Davey Dance-BLOG. A project started while traveling Europe during Spring 2007. Armed only with an ipod and a Canon PowerShot, Davey picks a location and a pop song. Then Davey records an improvised dance. http://daveydanceblog.com/

Disneyland Update-Expansion of Disney's California Adventure

Lots of changes happening at Disney's California Adventure !
I love the new partners statue of Walt and Mickey.

Random thought for the day - Why does my huge cat think he can sleep on top of my skinny computer monitor. I love the look on his face when he falls off, which is often.
